The College of Information Technology UNITEN was proud to present you with eHealth Symposium 2013.
Scheduled for 26th June 2013, this symposium targets to bring together the varied community of researches on e-health to showcase their works, share expertise and ideas.
As request by the lecturer, we need to do a summary about the symposium and also its benefit to the IT industry.
The summary :
As the world is expending toward digital world, industry
like healthcare must follow so it able to provide the people the best service
today. Hence, the introduction of E-Health to suit the need of people today.
The trend challenge of health is the developed country. Today, many develop
country such Malaysia set up many city that result it became megapolis/big city
that attract more people to the city that will result to overpopulation. This
will result to the increase of healthcare needed by the people. Other than
that, climate change also the trend challenge of e-health. Components that use
for e-health today is sensor system. DAQ platform, data storage, GUI, source of energy. It need
specific specification like fit for the purpose and permit direct user
interaction. Unfortunately, this device will effect the privacy of the patient
as medical confidentiality can be view by other people. The less control of
data access and warrant-less surveillance will cause the privacy of the patient
can be bridge.
There are few factor will affect the e-health
such power factor, environment factor, human factor and corporate factor. The
power factor are blackout, dropout of energy, voltage reduction and runaway
cost of generator meanwhile environment factor are dust, the decrease of
temperature and vibration.Human and corporate also effect the e-health system.
The factor are less committeemen by the people in-change limited knowledge
about the system as this was course by the corporate poor understanding about information technology, minimal training for
staff in handling the system, failure in fulfilling the need in the department.
The strategies that need to counter this problem are by provide equitable
geographical access, Establish secure, unified, efficient data handling,
considering private sector as innovator, favor open source and the ability
managing CMR at the bedside using tablet
